Some portraits are drawn for the pets we still hold.
Some are drawn for the ones we're learning to live without.
This is a special place just for those we've lost. They are inside the main gallery too, but I feel like they deserve their own space. Working on portraits of lost loved ones is an extraordinary gift for me. I hold their story close.

Callie
Sweet Callie was the very loved black Labrador of a friend of mine. She loved her family, loved roaming the neighborhood, and frequently spent her days down the road at a neighbor's house that she considered her second home, returning home at dinnertime. She loved the water, and this portrait was drawn from an original pic of her standing in the water, taken by her dad.
